LncRNAs are broadly defined as noncoding RNAs longer than 200 nucleotides, separating them from various classes of microRNAs (miRNAs), small nuclear RNAs (snRANs), and small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs) that function through distinct mechanisms (2,3). The majority of lncRNAs are transcribed by RNA polymerase II (RNAP2), hence sharing similarities with messenger RNAs (mRNAs). UR - https://ncri.amegroups.org/article/view/4538
